Meet Philippe Seminati, Head of Global Supply Chain

Dedication and expertise are key qualities necessary to provide flexible solutions to our customers, and we are lucky to have an expert group supporting our #ContractManufacturing efforts. Our colleagues have been sharing their insights into pharmaceutical manufacturing and how they make the most of Acino’s state-of-the-art facilities to contribute to our customers’ #outsourcing strategy.

Meet Philippe Seminati, Head of Global Supply Chain

Philippe leads the Global Supply Chain Team across all Acino. His focus is to ensure that we continue to serve our patients and customers at all times.

Q: Which processes are you responsible for or involved in?

At Supply Chain we are responsible for end-to-end supply chain management, governance and processes. From customer order management to distribution, including customs clearance, supplier management and supply securization.

Q: How do you ensure that these processes run smoothly?

We have early warning systems in place to anticipate process effectiveness and eventual deviations. Moreover, we focus on strategic issues and tightly manage mitigation plans with internal and external stakeholders. We standardize the way we execute our day to day business in order to achieve higher transparency.

Q: What are the challenges you face in your daily work and how do you handle them?

Acino’s fast pace is sometimes challenging but this dynamic work is also boosting. Acting as an agile team means constantly being flexible to react and adapt to shifting priorities.

Communication and alignment are essential to ensure that all stakeholders pull in the same direction. It is necessary to work closely together and be good at multitasking.

Trust is also very important. We trust our experts and know we all make our high-quality contribution. We maintain a positive attitude, and stay disciplined when it comes to execution.

Q: What do you love the most about your job?

Actually, there are two things. Being part of Acino’s ambition and the success story we are currently writing is an honor, and I am extremely proud of my team.

Q: What makes you proud of Acino?

How we have managed to deliver on our ambitious growth plan. This success correlates with the strong engagement and contribution of all employees. Also striking is the solution-oriented mindset in the company and the fact that we are constantly challenging the status quo to be more efficient.

Q: What do you like the most about the contribution of Supply Chain to Acino’s B2B activities?

At Supply Chain we support Acino’s business by managing inventories; securing raw materials; avoiding stock-out with a reliable end-to-end supply chain; and by maximizing spot business opportunities.

I love the possibility to contribute to our collective ambition and success story in so many ways, and I am extremely proud of my team and the results they deliver day in day out no matter what.

Although we had to stop site tours for a while to help with social distancing and maintain the safety of our colleagues who must keep production running during the Covid-19 crisis, you can still visit our Liesberg site virtually.
