Iqbal, 23 years is a long time without a change of employer. You started off as an Office Assistant, please take us through your career trajectory.
“Throughout my career, I have always felt there were abundant opportunities for growth and learning. I began as an Office Assistant, but my journey took me through various departments, each offering invaluable experiences. I worked in Administration, Finance, Human Resources, Logistics, and ultimately, found my niche in the Supply Chain department. No matter where I was, I had incredible support from the different teams, which helped me develop my skills. In addition, my line managers encouraged me to pursue additional courses and certifications in Logistics and Supply chain to ensure I had the right foundation and understanding of the supply chain processes. This along with working in different departments gave me a unique perspective on how they all work together, which has been really valuable in my current role.”
What is the main reason you have stayed with Acino so long?
“Every organisation has its ups and downs; it is just a part of work life. But what keeps you going is the recognition you receive along the way. Whether it’s for something big or small, being acknowledged gives you the motivation to push forward and strive for excellence. At Acino, this culture of recognition and mutual respect is deeply ingrained. People here truly value and appreciate each other’s contributions, and that has been a huge factor in why I have stayed for so long. It is this supportive environment that makes me want to continue growing and giving my best.”
What advice would you give someone starting out their career at Acino?
“At Acino, being a midsize organisation brings fantastic advantages. There is a lot of potential for growth and development, often more than in larger companies. If you work hard and perform well, you will find plenty of opportunities to advance your career. I would also say; never hesitate to ask questions or seek help. Even after 23 years here, I am still learning. If you ask something, you gain knowledge, and if you know something, share it with others. Embrace the supportive and collaborative culture at Acino, and you will find it to be a rewarding place to build your career.”
