Regional Procurement Manager, META

Cairo, Egypt, Middle East, Turkey, and Africa

The position is based in Cairo, Egypt and will report directly to Regional Head of Procurement, META. The role will be responsible for sourcing activities of indirect procurement of META region.

Your Responsibilities will be  :

  • Plan, organize, and direct the work of buying of supplies, materials, equipment, and services, establishes goals, objectives, and performance standards for purchasing activities.
  • Establish, implement, evaluate, and modify purchasing policies and procedures; interpret and apply policies, laws, and regulations pertaining to government procurement and property disposal practices to ensure compliance.
  • Analyze performance and workload data to develop and implement procedural changes, new methods, or automated systems as appropriate, in order to increase efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the purchasing programs.
  • Participate in the preparation and monitoring of the division budget.
  • Confer with all departments to determine purchasing needs, legal requirements, and product specifications, and to share information about cost and availability, vendor qualifications, and current technology.
  • Develop standardized specifications for the purchasing of commodities used by several departments.
  • Direct the advertising, opening, and receipt of bids and the making of awards.
  • Review bids, contracts, and purchase orders.
  • Ensure maintenance of appropriate documentation and records.
  • Research market conditions and new products.
  • Negotiate with vendors regarding purchase requirements, prices, trade and cash discounts, deliveries, current product development, and submission of bids and quotations for purchases.
  • Investigate and resolve complaints from departments about products and services and from vendors regarding payments.
  • Establish a quarterly report to analyze and simplify the data.
  • Evaluate, assess the suppliers (semiannually).

Your Profile :

  • Bachelor degree.
  • 2-3 Years of experience in a similar role is preferable.
  • CIPS or equivalent certificate is a plus.
  • Post-graduate study is a plus.
  • Pharma business savvy.
  • Knowledge of Category Management Process and its practical applications.
  • Knowledge of Contract Negotiation and Management.
  • Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • High level of intellectual curiosity, self-motivated to solve difficult issues, continually seeking ways to improve.
  • Excellent command of English (spoken and written).
  • Excellent command of French (spoken and written) is a plus.
