Acino to join World Heart Day 2021 efforts as Global Supporter
September 29 marks World Heart Day, and Acino will work in cooperation with the World Heart Federation as official Global Supporter of the World Heart Day to raise awareness of cardiovascular disease.
The Covid-19 pandemic has strained health services worldwide, compromising the care for cardiovascular disease (CVD) patients.
In the run-up to the World Heart Day on September 29, and for the next year, Acino teams worldwide will work in cooperation with the World Heart Federation to raise awareness of CVD and help communities to communicate and engage more actively around this topic.
The gap in prevention, diagnosis and treatment due to lack of access, and the gap in social connectivity – a known risk factor for CVD – mean society must find alternative ways to connect people to heart health and CVD awareness, particularly in lower-income areas. Acceleration of digital care aimed at transforming the diagnosis, prevention and management of CVD becomes particularly important, as the global pandemic has left many people physically and mentally isolated.
“At Acino we are in a unique position to cater to vulnerable communities thanks to our presence in emerging markets and our expertise in the cardiovascular therapeutic area. We aim to harness the combined power of our global, regional and local teams to increase awareness and influence people’s behavior in prevention and management of CVD.” – Eva Kopecna, Global Head of Regulatory Affairs, Medical and Pharmacovigilance.
Being part of a virtual heart community will be more important than ever this year. Find the hashtags #WorldHeartDay and #UseHeart on social media, and contribute to the global conversation. Use this opportunity to connect and send a positive message of cardiovascular health. We can all get behind this cause and make the world a healthier place.
