Acino helps hospitals and HCPs in Ukraine

At Acino, our goal is to ensure the continued supply of critical medicines to patients around the world. We are mindful of this important role in supporting patients’ medical needs in the countries where we operate. They and the healthcare professionals and systems that take care of them are counting on us and we continue to support them.

Acino in Ukraine has joined the support of doctors fighting the Covid19 pandemic. The company provided assistance to 1,200 hospitals and 2,225 pharmacies throughout Ukraine, supporting 17,000 healthcare professionals and 5,000 pharmacists in all regions of the country with necessary personal protective equipment. Namely: antiseptics, protective medical masks, medical gloves, and moisturizing hand creams with a total value of USD 160,600 as of May 28, 2020.

“Acino strictly adheres to the principles of socially responsible business. We constantly support partnerships and develop our own social projects in the field of health, science and sports. In 2019, the company provided around USD 245,000 to charity and humanitarian aid. Today we are all united in the fight against Covid19. Unfortunately, healthcare professionals are at high risk of infection by coronavirus due to a lack of personal protective equipment in hospitals. Every fifth person infected with Covid19 in Ukraine is a HCP. Of course, we could not turn our backs to this problem and responded to numerous appeals from Ukrainian hospitals. We will not stop and will continue to provide the necessary help and support to the healthcare professionals and hospitals facing this challenge. After all, they are counting on us,” says Eugene Zaika, Acino’s Regional Head Ukraine and CIS.

Acino also joined the all-Ukrainian initiative “Drive a doctor” – during the period of restriction of public transport, Acino employees have helped many HCPs get to their workplaces.
