Acino and the World Heart Federation use heart to save lives
This World Heart Day, September 29, and for the next year, Acino will support the World Heart Federation to raise awareness of cardiovascular disease (CVD) as the leading cause of death for patients around the world.
The World Heart Federations aims to:
- Reduce global mortality from non-communicable diseases (NCD) by 25% by 2025
- Decrease the economic burden of cardiovascular disease
- Transform science into policy to influence agencies, governments and policy makers
- Inspire changes
- Create dialogue
- Raise awareness of CVD risk factors and have an impact on modifiable risk factors
With COVID-19, CVD patients face a double-edged threat. Not only are they more at risk of developing severe forms of the virus, but they may also be afraid to seek ongoing care for their hearts.
As a pharmaceutical company that strives to make high-quality medicines accessible to patients and healthcare professionals in emerging markets, at Acino we feel it is important to support those most vulnerable in society and each other in the fight against cardiovascular disease.
We are committed to providing patients with the medicines they need in the markets where we operate, and to promote healthy heart lifestyles to manage cardiovascular disease.
We will continue to share stories and information about cardiovascular disease including hypertension, ischemic heart disease, heart failure, atrial fibrillation, heart attack, strokes, and the healthy habits that prevent them.
We will also showcase Heart Heroes – people from all walks of life who have shown commitment, courage, empathy and care in relation to heart health.
Help us and the World Heart Federation turn World Heart Day into a powerful platform for positive change to help people live longer, healthier, better lives.
