The Position

The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Occupational Toxicologist to join our Global Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) team.

Your Opportunities

The primary responsibility of this role is to develop Occupational Exposure Limits (OELs) and Permitted Daily Exposure (PDE) values for active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and other ingredients used with respect to Acino products. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and health of our employees, as well as the employees or our business partners by assessing the toxicological risks associated with APIs and other ingredients and implementing appropriate safety measures. The role also requires ensuring compliance with local, national, and international occupational health regulations and guidelines.

Who You Are

  • Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Toxicology, Pharmacology, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in occupational toxicology, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing OELs for APIs.
  • Strong knowledge of toxicological principles, risk assessment methodologies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to interpret complex scientific data and translate it into practical safety measures.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, including ability to explain technical matters in easy-to-understand language.
  • Proficiency in using toxicological databases and software.
  • Professional certification in toxicology (e.g., DABT, ERT) or industrial hygiene (e.g., CIH) is preferred.
