Microbiologist / Senior Microbiologist

The position is based in Dubai, UAE and will report directly to the Microbiology Manager.

Your Responsibilities will be :

1. Conduct assigned testing independently within constraints of lab scheduling.
2. To independently perform periodic microbiological tests (Water analysis, MLT analysis, Environment monitoring, Bacterial endotoxin test and Sterility test) as per Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
3. To  perform the Bacterial Endotoxin Test.
4. To take the samples for sterility test and to carry out the sterility testing.
5. Document contemporaneously all the activities performed and maintain complete and comprehensive records for all activities related to microbiology.
6. Make detailed observations, document results, and perform data analysis.
7. Operate and maintain laboratory equipment as required by SOP and testing procedures.
8. To keep track of requirements for procurement and give monthly requirements.
9. To qualify the prepared media for growth promotion test.
10. To perform the method validations as per the laid down protocol and to support qualification activities to support validation /qualifications.
11. To  prepare, maintain and reconcile Standard and house isolates / cultures for routine use.
12. To maintain and update media stock record formats and in state of compliance.
13. To intimate microbiology In charge for any abnormalities in microbiological analysis.
14. To support OOS, QMS (change control, deviation, CAPA, failure investigation, etc.) and other QMS elements towards timely closure.
15. To perform the assigned activities other than or in addition to routine activities by supervisor, HOD or management team as and when organization needs.
16. Actively participate in continuous Improvement processes within the quality department and work with all other departments to identify process improvements.
17. Write protocol and perform method suitability to ensure they are current and compliant with regulatory requirements.
18. Create URS, SOP, validation protocols, laboratory records and other related documentation as assigned.
19. Communicate deviation or out of trend results to microbiology head.
20. Conduct OOS investigation for failures in the microbiological laboratory and apply corrective and preventative measures.
21. Train and develop microbiologists in microbiological techniques and provide technical guidance.
22. Review of routine analysis test reports generated by microbiologists and review of equipment logbooks.
23. To follow GxP practices in premises with awareness of data integrity.
24. Working knowledge of electronic tool such as labware LIMS.

Your Profile :

• 4-7 years experience with a Bachelor’s/master’s degree in science (Preferably  Microbiology/Biotechnology)
• Working knowledge of Microsoft excel and word.
• Relevant experience in the regulated pharmaceutical industry, specifically including quality control (microbiology) in sterile manufacturing environment.
• Experience with health authority inspections and third-party audits.
• Understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing and laboratory work (including familiarity with various analytical techniques) a strong asset.
• Decision-making skills.  o   Excellent communications skills in English (verbal, written, listening, email writing).
• Technical writing and Problem solving skills.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes and/or quality systems elements.
• Data analysis skills are required.
• Able to work in shifts
